Papa and Granma Visit

Papa and Granma came to Vermillion last weekend.  The girls were so excited to see them! Papa made the girls new vanities - complete with a mirror and drawers.  It amazes me how talented he is with wood! All we provided was a picture, and he did the rest! The wood and finish match the beds he made for the girls last year.  I know these pieces of Papa's art will be cherished forever! The girls have enjoyed finding rings, bracelets and knick-knack items to fill the drawers.

While they were visiting, Papa and Granma were able to spend time in Izzy's Kindergarten class to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday.  I read a Dr. Seuss book to Izzy's class, while Izzy sat with Papa and Granma.  Then Izzy showed them her literacy centers.  Papa and Granma had to practice building words with stamps (you can see their completed work below).  ;-)  Izzy was so proud to have them there with her! After literacy, we took Izzy out to lunch.  She loved spending the time with them...especially since she didn't have to share them with her sister.

New vanities!
