First Race of the Season

Yes, I know what you are thinking...first race? Outside? We might be a little crazy, but my running buddy, Abby, and I have set a goal of running one race a month in 2013.  Our first race was this past weekend in Beresford.  They bused us out to the starting line, in the middle of NO WHERE! As you can see in the picture, it was fields and cows as far as the eye could see.  The route was a straight shot, 4 miles, back into town.  And yes, it lived up to it's name...it was only 18 degrees outside!! Brrrr! There were even snow flurries!  But that didn't slow us down, we still finished with under 10 miles.  I am SO glad we competed...we just might be rock-stars after all.
